Kitchener BikeFest

Is a community bicycle festival hosted by the City of Kitchener that celebrates the bicycle and its role in the urban environment. The 2017 free event will be the fifth, held at the civic square in downtown Kitchener. There will be tents for bicycle advocacy and bicycle shops, there will be information and demonstrations related to health and fitness, games and activities for families and there will be food trucks.

Toronto Bike to Work Day

Date: Monday May 29
Time: Begins at 7:00 am at various locations
Location: Ends at Nathan’s Phillips Square for a free breakfast

Ride with thousands of cyclists on Bike to Work Day and show your support for biking to work! Ride to work or school, or join our annual- kick-off event: the annual Toronto Bike to Work Day Group Commute! We’ll ride together from various start points around the city, and arrive at Nathan Phillips Square for a free breakfast provided by St. Lawrence Market and Jet Fuel Coffee. When you sign up, you’ll also be entered to win one of three prize packs including a bicycle and $300 voucher from VIA Rail. You’ll also get bonus entries for logging a trip on the Smart Commute Tool and for every person you recruit through email and social media. Bike to Work Day is co-hosted by The City of Toronto. Ottawa Bike Day on the Hill

Stay for a free BBQ in the East Block Courtyard and talk cycling with MPs and Senators.

Cambridge Tour de Grand

Date: Sunday June 11
Time: First ride begins at 8:00 am

Now in its 20th year, the Cambridge Tour de Grand is the Waterloo Region’s largest recreational cycling event, attracting nearly 3,000 cyclists who ride routes ranging from the 160K road grinder to the 10K Family Fun Ride.  There are many routes in between that show participants the bicycle infrastructure of the City of Cambridge, and the recreational cycling potential of the surrounding Grand River watershed. This year’s event includes for the first time, 50K and 76K gravel and trail routes. The volunteer-run event is Sunday June 11, with the first rides beginning at 8 am, and the “family rides” beginning at 10 am. Individual pre-registration of $35 includes a T-shirt for the first 2,000 registrants. There will be tents for bicycle shops and bicycle accessory sales. More information can be found at:
