Now in its 20th year, the Cambridge Tour de Grand is the Waterloo Region’s largest recreational cycling event, attracting nearly 3,000 cyclists who ride routes ranging from the 160K road grinder to the 10K Family Fun Ride. There are many routes in between that show participants the bicycle infrastructure of the City of Cambridge, and the recreational cycling potential of the surrounding Grand River watershed. This year’s event includes for the first time, 50K and 76K gravel and trail routes. The volunteer-run event is Sunday June 11, with the first rides beginning at 8 am, and the “family rides” beginning at 10 am. Individual pre-registration of $35 includes a T-shirt for the first 2,000 registrants. There will be tents for bicycle shops and bicycle accessory sales.
